Photography Studies College Student Exhibition

Survey #1: an exhibition by alumni from Master of Arts – Photography program at Photography Studies College, Melbourne

Survey #1 is a compendium exhibition featuring graduates from the Master of Arts – Photography program at Photography Studies College, Melbourne. It brings together a range of photographic approaches, including documentary, performance, and more choreographed modes, presented as prints and objects. The work reflects a wide spectrum of contemporary concerns, from the social to the personal, and from the embodied to the environmental. The images trace themes of performance and place: from Krump dancing and Australian rules football to investigations of empty gallery spaces, neighbourhood shopping malls, remote landscapes, thermal heat imaging in Tokyo, and aerial views of suburban fringes. Collectively, these research-led projects demonstrate each graduate’s distinctive visual language, aligning with the College’s commitment to innovative photographic practice and rigorous research outcomes.

Featuring: Wendy Catling, Jo Cripps, Kelvin Lau, Rachel Main, Mitch Nivalis, Brett Price & Guy Templeton.
